    Apps-based Machine Translation on Smart Media Devices - A Review

    Machine Translation Systems are part of Natural Language Processing (NLP) that makes communication possible among people using their own native language through computer and smart media devices. This paper describes recent progress in language dictionaries and machine translation commonly used for communications and social interaction among people or Internet users worldwide who speak different languages. Problems of accuracy and quality related to computer translation systems encountered in web & Apps-based translation are described and discussed. Possible programming solutions to the problems are also put forward to create software tools that are able to analyze and synthesize language intelligently based on semantic representation of sentences and phrases. Challenges and problems on Apps-based machine translation on smart devices towards AI, NLP, smart learning and understanding still remain until now, and need to be addressed and solved through collaboration between computational linguists and computer scientists

    Simulation model for factory communication network protocols

    ABSTRACT In this paper, we study the simulation of communication protocols. eeded for factory communication network. The simulation model is iscrete and event driven. The parameters used in the simulator have been arefully selected. Different set of parameters simulates different types f protocols. The performances of the existing standard protocols: SHA/CD, Token Bus, and Token Ring, are simulated and discussed. The imulation results show that the deterministic message delay, the ritical aspect of the communication, favors Token Bus rather than SHA/CD. A protocol designed to satisfy the critical timing requirements or Flexible Manufacturing System is proposed. The performance of the roposed protocol is presented and compared with the standard Token Bus used on the simulation. Key words: network, protocol, communication networ

    ABSTRACT An industrial Flexible Manufacturing System (FMS) consists of robots, numerically controlled machines, computers, and sensors. Its use in the production segment of manufacturing industries promises a variety of benefits ranging from high machine utilization to high volume of productivity. During the past few years, functions and organizations of industrial FMS have experienced important improvements. While nodes were initially introduced by grouping machines and then simply interconnecting the inputs and outputs of their controllers, it is now assumed that each device can be attached to a network and be able to exchange information reciprocally. The need for the design of a node communication network becomes urgent. The coordination among devices are mostly under the control of one or more computers.     Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mempelajari cara pengolahan citra penginderaan jauh sehingga waktu pemrosesannya lebih cepat. Hal semacam ini banyak diperlukan untuk perencanaan tata kota, dan pemanfaatan lahan tanah dan bangunan. Bentuk pengolahan yang cepat ini salah satu caranya adalah dengan memakai proses pararel yang saat ini sudah banyak dijual di manca negara dengan harga yang relatif murah. Data dari penelitian ini diambilkan dari citra penginderaan jauh berupa foto udara. Data tersebut, kemudian discan dengan alat scanner untuk diolah lebih lanjut. Jenis proses yang telah dikerjakan pada penelitian ini meliputi proses zoom (pembesaran atau pengecilan gambar) , pengaturan kontras gambar untuk mempertajam gambar yang terlalu terang atau terlalu gelap, serta proses penapisan (filtering). Beberapa program dalam bahas C yang ditulis untuk operasi tersebut di atas dengan menggunakan CPU tunggal (IBM AT 486DX2) menunjukkan adanya sifat pararel dalam operasi itu yang bisa diproses pada jenis komputer pararel. Dari hasil analisis terhadap program tersebut, ternyata bahwa watu pemrosesan citra akan lebih cepat jika proses dikerjakan dengan komputer pararel, dan waktu proses tersebut tergantung pada banyaknya bagian program yang bisa diparalelkan dan pada jumlah CPU dalam komputer pararel tersebut
